磯崎（新）さんや黒川（紀章）さんは、建築が工業化社会のリーダーとして社会から尊敬され、充分な利用価値があると思われていた時代に、自身の建築表現のベースを確立したし、安藤（忠雄）さんや伊東（豊雄）さんも、彼らの代表作（例えばせんだいメディアテーク）は、社会の建築に対する尊敬、信頼がそのベースにあるように感じる。

　逆に僕らは学生時代にまず「オイル・ショック」で落とされ、事務所を始めてすぐ「バブルの崩壊」で落とされ、90年代からは「ハコモノ批判」で落とされたのである。
